We collect as little as we can, use it only to help your child learn, and never sell it. Here’s exactly what that means.
Without an account
You can take the assessment and play the games without signing up. Your answers are kept in your own browser on your device. They aren’t sent to us unless you choose to save them to an account. The games on our home page don’t collect anything.
What we collect when you create an account
- Your account: your email, your name if you give it, and your password, stored only as a scrambled (hashed) version that we can’t read.
- Your children: the first name and grade you enter, and their assessment answers and results.
- Teachers: your school name and grades taught, and the classes and assignments you create.
- Account activity: a record of actions like signing in or saving a profile, kept to protect your account and fix problems.
Plans and photos
When you ask for a learning plan, we send the topic you typed, any photo of a page you add, and your child’s learning order to our AI provider, Anthropic, to write the plan. We don’t save these requests or photos on our servers. Anthropic processes them to return the plan and doesn’t use them to train its models. Please don’t include your child’s full name or other personal details in photos or topics.
Cookies and storage
We use one cookie to keep you signed in. It lasts up to 30 days and isn’t used for tracking. We also save your progress and settings in your browser so the site remembers where you left off. We don’t use advertising cookies, and we don’t show ads.
Who we share it with
We never sell your information or your child’s. We share it only with the services that run Marigold Minds for us, and only so they can do that:
- Vercel hosts the website.
- Neon hosts our database.
- Anthropic writes learning plans.
We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect a child’s safety.
Children’s privacy
Marigold Minds is built for parents and teachers. Children don’t create accounts or give us information themselves. Parents choose what to tell us about their child, can see it at any time, and can ask us to delete it. If you believe a child has given us information without a parent, contact us and we’ll delete it.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is open. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your information and your children’s within 30 days, except where the law requires us to keep something.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct, download or delete your information at any time by emailing us. We’ll reply within 30 days.
Changes
If we change how we use your information, we’ll update this page and tell account holders before the change takes effect.
